Getting to Sue-Meg

Sue-meg State Park sits on the Humboldt coast, about 25 miles north of Eureka and 5 miles north of Trinidad. From Highway 101, take the Patrick's Point Drive exit and follow the signs west into the park. Plan for about 30 minutes from Arcata, 40 from Eureka.

Once inside the park

Pause at the entrance kiosk to pay the day-use fee (eight dollars per vehicle), then continue on Park Entrance Road. Follow the signs for Sumêg Village. Our gathering is at the Sumêg group picnic area, just past the village on Sumêg Village Road. Look for the cook shelter.
